Negative thought patterns
Mindfulness can help you overcome negative though patterns. It is only when you are aware of how you are acting that you are able to make a difference. You can continue to worry where it is necessary …. or you can choose a different path.
Choosing to worry appropriately is probably a middle path. You wouldn’t just step off a footpath into the middle of the road without first looking left or right. Likewise, considering life decisions requires us to be thoughtful Sometimes our fears takeover and it is here that we can exercise “thought control” to regulate our feelings and regulate our actions.
We humans are born to worry. Without it we would be a shambles, deviating off left and right at every sight or sound that takes our attention. Watch a two year old playing and more-than-likely they will be running around, grabbing this and then that, moving backwards and sideways to anything that takes their attention.
As we mature we are more able to regulate our attention and emotions toward a beneficial outcome. Without this regulation our lives would be quite messy.
